Shelley Foran is a full-time class of 2017 MBA student at the University of Chicago School of Business and a recipient of the school’s full-tuition Rath Fellowship award.  Prior to attending Booth, Shelley was a member of the corporate strategy team at the Intercontinental Exchange Group, which operates global exchanges and clearinghouses across all major asset classes, including energy derivatives.  Shelley was responsible for evaluating new business opportunities and contributed to the integration of its $8 bln acquisition of the New York Stock Exchange.  Shelley graduated with honors from Yale University and will spend the summer interning with Royal Dutch Shell’s Mergers & Acquisitions team in Houston.

Giancarlo Lazzaro is a full-time MBA/MPP Joint Degree student at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Harris School of Public Policy. Prior to his graduate studies, Giancarlo worked 7 years in Business Development for Statoil, first in Venezuela and then in Norway. During that time, he was involved in the economic and commercial analysis of new business opportunities, particularly acquisitions, divestments, farm-ins and organic developments in shale oil & gas and heavy oil. Giancarlo holds a B.A. in Economics from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas, Venezuela where he is originally from, and will be spending his summer with Strategy& in Mexico City.

Shaina Milleman is in the class of 2017 in the full-time MBA program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, pursuing concentrations in Strategic Management, Managerial & Organizational Behavior and Finance. Prior to attending Booth, Shaina spent five years working for The Dow Chemical Company in both Chicago and Houston.  She has experience working in the polyethylene value chain with roles in sales and strategic marketing.   She has experience leading multi-functional market management teams responsible for critical development initiatives for Hygiene and Medical, Food Packaging, and Industrial Goods Packaging market segments.  She has spent time working with companies of varying sizes – ranging from Fortune 50 Brand Owners to small privately-held companies.   Shaina will be interning this summer with McKinsey & Company in Chicago.  Shaina graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and concentration in Energy Studies.

Ann Murray is a full-time class of 2017 MBA student at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, pursuing concentrations in Finance and Analytic Management.  Prior to Booth, Ann worked in economic consulting at The Brattle Group, focusing on the power and utilities sector.  Ann worked with clients including electric utilities, ISOs, and other energy industry players on issues including capacity market design and forecast, REC markets, asset valuation, and auction and procurement design. Ann will intern this summer at Splunk in San Francisco, working with their data and analytics strategy team. Ann has a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics with highest honors from Swarthmore College.

Erik Underwood grew up in Minneapolis, MN and graduated with Honors in The College of Social Studies at Wesleyan University. After undergrad, he worked for Mainstream Renewable Power for six years. The first two were spent doing project development in Illinois and California, and the last four were spent as Project Manager and then leading project financing activities for Mainstream’s South American pipeline while living in Santiago, Chile. Erik will be working at Tesla Energy in their New Market Entry team during the summer of 2016, and plans on pursuing a career in deploying Clean tech and renewable energy and investments globally.

Gus Vaughan is a full-time class of 2017 MBA student at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is focused on the oil and gas sector.  Prior to Booth, Gus was a reservoir engineer at BP supporting both the Lower 48 and Gulf of Mexico operations. He was responsible for determining rate estimates to optimize existing production, justify new wells and validate year-end reserves. Gus will be spending his summer interning in the Natural Resources Group (Investment Banking Division) at Barclays Capital in Houston.  Gus received his B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas in 2011.
