Brannan Headshot

Andrew Brannan  is in the class of 2015 in the full-time MBA program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is focused on the power and utilities sector.  Prior to Booth, Andrew was an associate at The NorthBridge Group, an economic and strategic consulting firm serving the electricity and natural gas industries.  At NorthBridge, Andrew worked with electric utilities and competitive generators of electricity to address issues including asset valuation, financial planning, market structure, transmission cost allocation, and regulatory strategy.  Andrew’s summer internship is in the Power & Utilities group at an investment bank in New York City.  Andrew has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering (ABET), with honors, from Yale University.

Ashlee FoxAshlee Fox is in the class of 2015 in the full-time MBA program at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, pursing concentrations in Finance and Strategy.  She spent six years in the energy business, most recently as Assistant Vice President of Freepoint Commodities, a privately held commodities merchant where she was responsible for short term structured origination and physical natural gas optimization across a dynamic network of pipelines in the Western United States and Canada. Prior to joining Freepoint, Ashlee held similar roles with Societe Generale Energy Corp. and Sempra Energy Trading, where she acquired a broad customer base stretching from California utilities, Marcellus producers, Western storage operators, and international LNG importers.  Her background also includes working for new ventures, most notably spending two years with NGS Energy, a privately held infrastructure investment firm. This summer Ashlee will intern in Baltimore, MD with Constellation Energy as part of the company’s Generation Strategy team.  In 2006 Ashlee earned a Bachelor of Science in International Business from Fairfield University where she graduated with honors.

alpana kelkarAlpana Kelkar is in the class of 2015 in the full-time MBA program at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, pursuing concentrations in general management, operations management, and management & organizational behavior.  Originally from Houston Alpana worked in marketing and communications at Cameron, a large oilfield services and equipment company, prior to attending Booth.  This summer, Alpana’s summer internship is in corporate development/strategic planning at FMC Technologies in Houston, and after graduation she hopes to pursue a corporate position within oil and gas.  Alpana received her BBA in Business Honors and Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin in 2009.

Viktor MakarovViktor Makarov is in the class of 2015 in the full-time MBA program at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, pursuing concentrations in Finance, Strategic Management, and Accounting. Before attending Booth, Viktor worked for an oilfield service provider, Baker Hughes Inc., as a Product Line Strategist in Houston, TX. His summer internship is in oil and gas investment banking in Houston, TX.  Viktor graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BE in Chemical Engineering.

Harsha PakhalHarsha Pakhal is in the class of 2015 in the full-time MBA program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business pursuing concentrations in Finance and Accounting. Prior to Booth, he was a Program Manager at Schlumberger in Houston, TX. He has experience leading cross-functional product development teams commercializing down hole tools for oil and gas clients, manufacturing, product design and operations. After his MBA, he intends to pursue a career in investment banking and is interning at Credit Suisse in Houston this summer. Harsha holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.

Agustina SclarandiAgustina Sclarandi is in the class of 2015 in the full-time MBA program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business pursuing concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship. Prior to Booth she worked in Business Development in an EPC Contractor, Techint E&C, in Argentina for Oil & Gas companies with operations around Latin America, where she analyzed economic and financial aspects of the bids the company presented and potential acquisitions. Before joining Techint, she worked analyzing funding options for public Energy projects in Argentina. During the summer, Agustina will be joining the Finance team at Exelon in Chicago. After completing her MBA, she wants to pursue a career in finance or corporate development in the Power/Utilities industry or in Cleantech. Agustina holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina.

Fun fact: She misses dulce de leche (Argentine treat) more than she would have imagined, and has learned to enjoy basketball now that she cannot watch much soccer.

Gene SettoonGene Settoon is in the class of 2015 in the full-time MBA program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business pursuing concentrations in Finance, Economics, and Strategic Management. Gene worked for five years at ExxonMobil in several roles in the Exploration and Production (E&P) division and in the corporate office.  In his first assignment, he consulted global E&P projects on the design and application of proper materials for all applications (material selection, corrosion studies, welding specifications, etc.).  He supported projects in Indonesia, Russia, and Japan before moving to a planning and economic analysis role supporting the development of the West Qurna I oilfield in Iraq.  Gene has an summer internship working in the Energy Practice at McKinsey & Co in Houston.  Before working at ExxonMobil, Gene earned a Bachelor of Science degree from MIT in Materials Science and Engineering.

Fun fact: Gene is from New Orleans and attended the Saints Superbowl victory in 2010.  Tracy Porter pointed directly to Gene in the stands as he returned the game-sealing interception for a touchdown.
