Daniel Atri

Daniel Atri is a second year MBA student at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business pursuing concentrations in Entrepreneurship, Finance and Strategic Management. Prior to Booth, Daniel was an Associate Manager in Schlumberger Business Consulting.  There, he advised some of the largest energy companies with technology, productivity, manpower-planning and portfolio diversification strategies. Before that, Daniel spent two years investing and developing alternative energy and emission reduction projects in Latin America. Prior to that, Daniel co-founded, operated and sold a retail company. elizabeth_cooper_bain

Elizabeth Cooper  is a second-year MBA student pursuing concentrations in Operations and General Management.  Prior to Booth, she lived in Houston, TX and was a consultant in Bain’s Energy Practice.  She has worked with energy companies across the value chain on projects ranging from performance improvement to organizational change to traditional strategy.  Elizabeth interned with PAWS Chicago this summer where she helped position the organization for growth by redesigning their operations to expand production capabilities.  Upon completion of her MBA, Elizabeth will return to Bain’s Energy Practice in Houston.  Elizabeth holds a BA in Economics and English from Rice University.

Pittman, EvanEvan Pittman is a second-year MBA student at Chicago Booth with expertise in the electric power sector. He is concentrating in Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Econometrics & Statistics. Prior to Booth, he was a senior research analyst in The Brattle Group’s energy and utilities economic consulting practice.  There, he assisted utilities, independent system operators, and other electricity market participants in matters related to auction design and administration, market structure, retail rate design, transmission cost allocation, and resource planning. Evan is especially interested in demand side issues in electricity markets, including demand response and time-of-use retail pricing. He received his B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Emory University and studied for a year at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Email: evan.pittman@chicagobooth.edu

K_SmithKatherine Smith is a full-time MBA student pursuing concentrations in Finance, Strategy, and Operations. Prior to Booth, Katherine worked in economic consulting at Boston Pacific Company and The Brattle Group. She has experience advising electric utilities and other market participants on a wide range of issues including electricity market modeling and forecasting, RTO/ISO dynamics and structure, energy auctions, renewable development, and transmission and grid development. After completing her MBA, Katherine intends to pursue a career in management consulting as part of an energy practice. Stege-Booth-PhotoHans Stege is a second year MBA student who interned in equity research at Bernstein over the summer, covering E&Ps and oilfield services.  Prior to Booth, he worked as a senior analyst within the Downstream and Petrochemical Group of PFC Energy, a Washington DC-based global energy consultancy, where he concentrated on the downstream markets of Russia and the CIS. He has worked on global strategic competitor and country-level analyses, modeling of demand scenarios, and has contributed in various roles to projects on Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, among other countries.  Prior to joining PFC Energy, Hans spent one year conducting research on Ukraine’s energy sector on a U.S. Fulbright Scholarship in Kyiv. Hans holds a Bachelor’s degree in Russian from Dartmouth College, and has also studied in the Department of Russian Language and Culture at St. Petersburg State University.
